MESSAGE FROM THE PAST

Were they signs for the gods, messages for posterity or simply pasture fences and graves, the remains of which we see today? When flying over the Arabian Peninsula, countless prehistoric landmarks appear like messages from a foreign world. Dating has shown that most of these structures are more than twice the age of the Egyptian pyramids. What lies behind these mysterious circles, cairns, and lines? If each of these "bumps" is a prehistoric burial site, then in prehistoric times the population density of the Middle East must have been much higher than previously thought. I don't know if there were megacities here six or seven thousand years ago, but certainly nothing that fits the popular theories of roving small groups of herders, hunters and gatherers.
