STONE CIRCLE WITH ALIGNEMENT

In the southern central Sahara, in the northern mountain massifs of Niger and Mali, but also far away, in southern Morocco, you can see stone circles with strange dotted lines next to them. These are small stone towers, which are usually arranged in an arc and sometimes also in a straight line next to the main hill.

According to dating, these tombs are probably the youngest of the Saharan monuments. Measurements range from 1,500 B.C. to just under 1,500 A.D. Thus, these sites continued to be built into the Islamic period and the Medieval.
